He clearly wasn't at any advantage against Gohan in their fight. He pulled out his sword, spat on him, and used magic.

It's probable that he can only sense reserves that they have access to. Gohan needs special circumstances to have access to his deepest reserves, and even people like Goku never picked up on that until Gohan's explosive rage that nearly crippled Raditz.

If Dabura really had the ability to sense potential then he would've been far, far, more cautious/scared than Goku and Gohan were when they sensed Buu's ki. But... we all know how that turned out.
	We Super Saiyans are in a league of our own.

In addition to this, Dabra has certain magical abilities that Goku and Gohan don't have. Turning people to stone being one of them.

He dose not sense their "ki" he can sense their full potinal, put it this way Goku? he did not read him at 500, he read him higher, even with him suppressed He dont sense normal ki, he senses the max of their ki suppressed or no, for NORMAL ki, Buu and Gohans potential is not normal and so he cant sense them at their max Dabura senses in another way that can pick up differently form them, but it cant pick up special ki like buu or gohans Edited by wolfie, Jan 15 2014, 10:35 PM.

Maybe there's a difference between "smoke" Boo and "solid" Boo. ~~Gohan couldn't fully sense Boo in smoke form, he only sensed that "something was wrong" and looked up.~~ Edited by Emmeth, Jan 15 2014, 11:25 PM.
